Support for New Mothers
The university supports meeting the needs of nursing mothers in the workplace. Nursing mothers can make arrangements with their department managers for reasonable break time and an appropriate place for expressing breast milk. Rooms for this purpose are now available on each campus. Click here to review the full policy.

A nursing mother's room, or lactation room, is available for university students and employees on central campus in Carnegie Hall Room 306. Nursing mothers can use the room for expressing breast milk or for nursing their child in a quiet, comfortable environment. The room features a pumping workstation, comfortable chair, and some basic supplies such as baby wipes, paper towels, and cleaning products. It is located near a women's restroom. Mothers need to make their own arrangements for storing milk and sterilizing pump parts.
The room is available from 7am-10pm, Monday-Friday. New or expecting mothers should complete this request form to gain access to this room. OU Health Services at 325-4611 ext. 41777 can assist a new mother if other accommodations need to be made because of the distance to Carnegie Hall.
A mother on the Tulsa campus can contact Human Resources and her department manager to make arrangements for nursing.
